Diva Challenge 286

Lines - straight lines.  Really fits my mood right now.  Don't really have to think about it.  Just draw straight lines.

Square One: Garlic Cloves

Love it - line work!!!  Garlic cloves can be so much fun.  I did the entire tile rather than adding another pattern (other than tipple) because it just felt good drawing lines.

Diva Challenge 285 - Let It Go!!!

I know we all have heard the song Let it Go - that's what I thought when I read the Diva's challenge.  She wanted us to just let it go and draw.  Don't overthink it, don't think about what others will say when they see it - just start drawing.  So I started with my mac 'n cheese Mooka, with Tumbleweed and printemps.  I did give some thought when shading, but otherwise, just let my pen go.

Autumn splendor

I was visiting with my friend, Dusty Darrah, CZT, and we were playing with our black journals.  Each time we get together, we have a "project" in mind and really enjoy getting into our work.  Here, I was working with white gelly roll for the outlines, prismacolor and gelly roll and glaze highlights.  Patterns are Akua Art's Alabastro, Verdigogh and Gordgeous.

Square One: Fife

Fife is not a pattern I use a lot - I have been doing some practicing though.  One of the hardest things for me to do when I work with a tangle pattern is to change it up.  I almost always tend to draw it exactly as the stepouts show.  So this time I used Fife as a center focus, changing how it is embellished, with meer behind it, almost looking like a bracelet with a medallion.  then I added smaller Fife filled in, printemps and poke leaf.

Diva Challenge 284

This week we are using the monotangle Tripoli.  I like Tripoli - I like to make it wander.  There are so many fills you can do with Tripoli.  You can find the stepouts for Tripoli at
I wish my picture showed my shading a bit better, but here it is.

Diva Challenge 283

This week is a UMT challenge (Use My Tangle).  The tangle is Centre Square by Aleesha Sattva CZT.  This is a very bold tangle pattern - I actually tried to tone it down.  I used it in this tile with Eni Oken's new pattern Trelina.  And it kind of wandered.

Traveling tangles

One of the latest things we have all been doing is Traveling Tangles.  One of us will start a tile, and send it to someone else to finish.  Oh my gosh is some beautiful work being shown!  Here is one that Irena Lesner, CZT handed me to finish, and my finished tile.

Square One: Beeline

This focus pattern is the official pattern Beeline.  Stepouts can be found at
I mixed it with Onomato some linework  and yin-cut.

Diva Challenge 282

This week we were encouraged to spill something on our tile and tangle it.  Irena Lesner, CZT, taught me a way of using hibiscus tea to color a tile.  We have spent a couple of morings creating some pretty amazing tile backgrounds.  So I took one of those backgrounds and did this week's challenge, using the pattern from Helen Williams that she posted a video for today - Plowers.  I did a little shading with prismacolor colored pencil, and added a little bit of white gelly roll highlight on the shine areas.
